Nature Retreat
Utena is named after the lotus flower throne on which Buddha rests, representing peace and serenity. We are a small, secluded ryokan-style retreat located high in the hills surrounded by nature, bird song and the music of mountain streams
Why not indulge in Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing? Try Mukdagawa Mountain Stream Promenade with its scenic waterfalls, or visit Takegasawa Park for the firefly festival in mid-June.
As well as traditional Japanese food, we can also cater for special dietary needs as vegan, vegetarian and macrobiotic.
